Ashley John-Baptiste is a British journalist, presenter, and broadcaster. He was born in Hackney, London in 1993. He started his career as a journalist working for the BBC, where he worked on several notable shows such as Today, Newsnight and Panorama. He was also part of the team that produced the popular documentary series, The Unwanted: The Secret Windrush Files.
In 2020, Ashley left the BBC to join Channel 4 News as a correspondent. He has also presented several documentaries for the channel, including Brown Girls Do It Too and The Lost Boys: What’s Going Wrong for Asian Men. In addition to his journalism work, Ashley is also a musician and has released several EPs and singles.
Ashley John-Baptiste is known for his authentic approach to journalism and his dedication to telling the stories of underrepresented groups. He has been recognized for his work with several awards, including the Royal Television Society Young Talent Award and the One World Media Award for Best New Journalist.
